Reading gardens and popup libraries

Libraries and reading bring people together and build communities. Over the last few years, pop-up libraries have been, well. . . popping up in cities around the world. They are generally small found or custom built shelves, retro-fitted phone booths or bus shelters, that often work on the “take a book, leave a book” honour system. To transform it into a reading garden, add a few chairs.

This summer, Ottawa’s Capital Reading Gardenwas a great success and hopefully sets the trend for the city.
